Our Story
Main Street Vinyl opened its doors in November 2016 right here on S Main Street in the heart of Downtown Burlington. Founded by Joshua Garrett and Amy McLamb, the shop was born from a simple truth: vinyl records carry something that digital music can’t replicate — warmth, presence, and a real connection to the moment a song was recorded.
In October 2023, Ed & Kate Meyer became the new owners of Main Street Vinyl. One of the things that brought Ed and Kate together is their shared love of music, and taking on this store felt like a natural extension of who they are. They’ve carried forward everything that made Main Street Vinyl a beloved part of the Burlington community — and they’re building on it every day.
Our Beliefs
We believe music belongs to everyone. Whether you’ve been collecting vinyl for decades or you’re holding your first record and not sure which end goes down — you’re welcome here.
We don’t have VIP customers and casual browsers. We have music fans, and we treat every one of them the same way: with respect, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm. No gatekeeping. No judgment. No intimidation.
Our values are simple: equality and kindness. We try to live those out in every interaction, every single day.
What We Carry
We stock thousands of new and used vinyl records across every genre — rock, classic rock, jazz, blues, hip-hop, R&B, pop, indie, country, folk, electronic, soundtracks, and more. New releases and classic pressings side by side. Turntables and record players from beginner to audiophile, new and used. Stereo equipment, accessories, and supplies at a range of price points.
We also offer professional ultrasonic record cleaning at $2.00 per LP, buy and trade vinyl records and equipment, and host free community events and listening nights throughout the year.

You don’t need to know anything about vinyl to walk through our door. You just need to love music — or be curious about it. We’ll take it from there.
