Our Story — Main Street Vinyl Burlington NC
Main Street Vinyl has been part of Downtown Burlington since 2016. It’s a gathering place for music fans of all kinds. It’s built around a simple truth: vinyl records carry something that digital music can’t replicate — warmth, presence, and a real connection to the moment a song was recorded.
In October 2023, Ed & Kate Meyer became the new owners. One of the things that brought them together is their shared love of music, and taking on this store felt like a natural extension of who they are. Together, they’ve carried forward everything that makes Main Street Vinyl a beloved part of the Burlington community — and they’re building on it every day.
Our Beliefs
We believe music belongs to everyone. Whether you’ve been collecting vinyl for decades or you’re holding your first record and not sure which end goes down — you’re welcome here. There are no VIP customers or casual browsers — just music fans treated the same way: with respect, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm. No gatekeeping. No judgment. No intimidation.
Furthermore, our values are simple: equality and kindness. Above all, we try to live those out in every interaction, every single day.
What We Carry
We stock new and used vinyl records across every genre — rock, classic rock, jazz, blues, hip-hop, R&B, pop, indie, country, folk, electronic, soundtracks, and more. Additionally, new releases and classic pressings sit side by side. Our selection also includes turntables and record players from beginner to audiophile, new and used. Stereo equipment, accessories, and supplies are available at a range of price points.
In addition, Main Street Vinyl offers professional ultrasonic record cleaning at $2.00 per LP. We also buy and trade vinyl records and equipment, and host free community events and listening nights throughout the year.
